In Loving Memory of Shane Gearing

Start the business. Shane and I both knew we wanted to start businesses. We wanted to own our time, run something we would be proud of and hopefully leave a business that our children could one day, help us run. Slinging bounce houses was NOT on that list, at first! Ha! Shane at first wanted to change people's life by being a personal trainer. His deep rooted athletic ability and ridiculous brute strength made him the kind of trainer that would make you go home crying! Believe me, I know. He first started G.I.I.F . God. is. in. Fitness. He studied workouts, started his training classes online with NASM and made his own variations of exercises that the meek, dare not try! Burpees, Total body blast and suicide stairs were his favorite and two originals, and they all left you weak in the knees but stronger, in the end. Shane then coined the phrase "Life in Uncertainty". He truly believed that this phrase could apply to any situation in life, especially, the life of the entrepreneur. I wonder if he knew how much I'd need to remember there is life, even in these uncertain times. Shane had every aspiration and even succeeded in making this a clothing line and inspiring others through his experiences. You have succeeded my love. Insert 2020 here. After working for 12 years at Woodstock furniture outlet, courses changed and shane and I both, made the decision to bet on ourselves. Thus, on the couch one evening chillin', cause that was Shane's MO, we decided to start Rascal G's Rentals. We jumped head first into an industry we knew very little about. We gave all we had into creating a business that focused on loving our neighbor as ourself and making memories for families, affordable. Lots of people said "better you than me" and often told us we worked too hard. What a lot of people didn't see was the growth of our family unit, strengthening of our marriage and ultimately, our deepest faith in the Lord and His plans for our life. Shane taught our children entrepreneurship and encouraged them to start whatever idea they had. Failing wasn't a thing, because if you tried and learned even one thing, then you were successful. Not trying at all, would be the source of your demise. If you are considering starting a business, do it. This is for you. Stop wondering what if, and just do. Be transparent from day one, because this is your journey and one day, you'll inspire someone else, to just start. Well done mi amor. You were, are and forever will be the greatest CEO, I will ever know. ??
